Paper Repeat Prescription Requests

Please note that from 1st February 2021 we will no longer be able to accept paper prescription requests delivered by hand to the surgery. This is to reduce the number of patients attending the surgery during the pandemic.

We understand that patients may feel it is more convenient to walk to the surgery to request a prescription. However, it is very important that we begin to move towards a paper-free NHS so that we can work more efficiently and continue providing timely prescriptions despite our rising workloads.

From 1st February 2021, please make sure you are requesting your repeat prescriptions through online services, by using the postal service, or by email.

Thank you.

COVID-19 Vaccination Information

We are pleased to say that we are preparing to start vaccinating against COVID-19 in the New Year, and will be contacting eligible patients directly to an offer an appointment in due course. While we appreciate the high levels of interest in receiving the vaccine, winter pressures mean we are extremely busy, so we request that you do not telephone us about COVID-19 vaccinations until asked to do so.

Do you have questions about the COVID-19 vaccination? This COVID-19 Vaccination Guide for Adults contains all the information you need to know.

Northampton Covid- 19 Patient information

CORONAVIRUS LATEST UPDATE 12.02.2020

The NHS and Public Health England (PHE) are extremely well prepared for outbreaks of new infectious diseases. The current risk to the general public is moderate. You can help too.

  • Germs can live on some surfaces for hours. To protect yourself and others:
  • Always carry tissues with you and use them to catch your cough or sneeze.
  • Bin the tissue, and to kill the germs, wash your hands with soap and water, or use a sanitiser gel.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell.
  • If you have arrived back from an affected area within the last 14 days and develop symptoms of cough or fever or shortness of breath, you should immediately:
  • Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people as you would with the flu
  • Call NHS 111 to inform them of your recent travel to the country

This is the best way to slow the spread of almost any germs, including Coronavirus.

More information, including a list of the affected areas is available by logging onto gov.uk/coronavirus

NEW PATIENT APPOINTMENT BOOKING SYSTEM

From Tuesday 21st January 2020  we are introducing a new patient appointment booking system. All patients wanting to be seen on the day will be dealt with by a dedicated member of the Practice Team.

Calls will be taken between 08.00 and 13.00 for same day care.  You will be called back the same day if you have called before 13.00 and  be offered appropriate treatment and care.   This may be a face to face appointment, a prescription, telephone advice, a referral, or other course of action.   Patients will be asked to give a detailed description of the problem to the Patient Navigator who answers the call, who will also ask what outcome you are hoping to achieve. The more information we have, the quicker and easier it will be to process your request and prioritise your call.
